PSA: Weymouth Woods is hosting a 50k race today on the main tract. The park remains open to the public but all trails will have runners. If you'd like to hike and avoid the race, the Boyd and Paint Hill tracts are open and clear!

Weymouth Woods is Hiring!

The park is currently looking for a 6-month Park Attendant ($15/hr, 40hrs/wk).

Primary responsibility is to staff the Visitor Center when permanent staff are unavailable (typically 2 days per week). When not doing that, duties include trail and facilities maintenance, participating in prescribed burns and large events, and (if qualified and interested) leading educational programs for the public!

Interested folks should fill out a PD-107 application (see below) and send it to [email protected]

PSA: Weymouth Woods is conducting a prescribed burn on the Boyd Tract today (see map). Please be aware of trail closures through the burn area. If you'd like to hike and avoid the smoke, the main Weymouth Woods and Paint Hill tracts are open and clear.

PSA - The Weymouth Woods Visitor Center will be having the carpets cleaned tomorrow, 3/4/26. Sections will be periodically closed (including the Discovery Room) while the cleaning is being done.

Start the year off right with a guided hike at Weymouth Woods! We'll have three options to choose from this January 1st:

Boyd Tract Hike - 9am (meet at 555 E. Connecticut Ave.)
Main Tract Hike - 1pm (meet at Visitor Center)
Paint Hill Hike - 3pm (meet at the Stoneyfield Dr. access)

Join 1 or join all, we'd love to ring in the new year with you!

We are saddened to hear about the loss of C’sar. Sad for the other elephants, sad for the citizens of North Carolina, and so sad for all the keepers who dedicated themselves to caring for him over the years. He has made many great memories for so many!
