We are so excited that our labor of love has not been in vain.
Brief update:
Bid packages are being finalized and ready to go
SAAM was awarded $125,000 from the State . Thank you Assemblyman Fred Thiele👍🏿

Our mission is to promote an understanding and appreciation of African American culture by creating programs that will preserve the past, encourage learning and enhance the life of the community. SAAM will research and collect local history produce media events, create exhibits and community celebrations. SAAM will Treasure the Past Tend to the Present and Transform the Future.

Thank you all for visiting and liking our page.
I apologize for any delay in responding but we are Sooo excited to report that SAAM is getting closer and closer to opening up our doors and welcoming you to the First African American site to be Historically Designated in the Village of Southampton.
Overall our mission( mission statement found on website) has been to inform educated and communicate the Rich history and contribution of a extraordinary people that has been misrepresented displaced and disenfranchised BUT we are STILL here!!! Stronger Determined and Compassionate.
We will soon update our website to give you a draft view of the the design of our SAAM.
So continued to visit and support our upcoming event in September.
