As I have said before, one of my favorite artists is French post impressionist,
Albert Marquet. His seaside and water view scenes of Parris and the Riviera recreate the world through light, simple, direct, with a soft brush touch, but still so accurate and I would say minimalist. Not an artist who gets much attention, but I admire and try to emulate him.
His style, his Paintings “sit right” with me. The simple quiet things in the world around me are what I love to paint and so like Cape Cod, surrounded by water, the soft grays and the brilliant light too.

Today, #1508, OIL, 12 X 12, finally migraine visual problems easing up & I got back to painting. I like it because it captures the quiet feel of Bass River & Cape Cod. I think it would look great in a home on Cape Cod or anywhere. Paintings look so much better in person I think because you can see the paint as well as the image and I love that.
