https://linktr.ee/lauriehendricksart As a painter, I interpret nature through my feelings and express what I see and feel.

Painting from life gives me the necessary information, taking that with me back to the studio, I can re-interpret what I saw and felt outside and tell a story on my canvas. I hope that the viewer will relate and be uplifted by my stories. The plein air Paint the Fall Color workshop in southern Maine workshop started yesterday: we timed the foliage just right! I did a morning demo and thankfully the rain stayed away until later in the afternoon. Everyone painted the trees and the lake then we celebrated with a lobster dinner! Thank you Karolyn Kiisel and Scott Burleigh for hosting our wonderful group and to Priscilla Curiel and her sister Sylvia Tanner for cooking up a storm of delicious meals!

"Idyllic Impressions"
September 19, 2024 - January 12, 2025
California Art Club Gallery at The Old Mill 1120 Old Mill Road San Marino, CA 91108

Idyllic Impressions will explore atmospheres that capture the simplicity of the senses in nature. The artwork featured in this exhibition traverses the traditional California Impressionist themes of figures, landscapes, seascapes and still lifes; all capturing the essence of idyllic moments in time.

The guest judge for this exhibition is Kathleen Dunphy, a Signature Artist Member of the California Art Club’s San Francisco Chapter.

Thrilled that my painting, "Fall's Fortune",30"x30", oil on canvas, is included in this exhibition. Hope you'll stop by the Old Mill Gallery in person or check it out online!

We had a full day touring Istanbul from the Hagia Sofia Mosque (and museum), to a rug making demo, a ceramic demo, the Grand Bizarre, and capping it off with dinner at Matbah, a rooftop restaurant featuring traditional dishes. Today a Turkish bath at an ancient Hammam and the Blue Mosque. Tomorrow we fly to the Aegean for our boat trip along the Turquoise Coast. I look forward to painting ...it feels like it's been ages (only 10 days). So grateful to be with my family for these special times.

What a great week it was! I'm over the moon that these two paintings found new homes! "Pasadena City Hall, Winter Light" 30"x30", sold at Marston's restaurant to a gentleman with an office adjacent to this very sight. Turns out he has an extensive plein air collection! Honored to be a part of it! This painting won first place in the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association's "Dusk to Dawn" exhibition a year or two ago.
The second painting, " Late Afternoon on the Ranch" 24" x30" was purchased dear friends who wanted a painting of Cayucos, one of their favorite places found this one during a studio visit!
