Come to Tierney’s Tavern this Saturday night, March 14th, for the Jillish Fair. Celebrating the life and legacy of Jill Sobule. She was my friend and mentor and an amazing and magical singer songwriter. Best known for her hit song, “I Kissed A Girl.”
During the pandemic Jill hosted a series of songwriting workshops. She created a community when we really needed one. The group I was in still meets every week. When Jill died tragically in a house fire last summer our group recorded an album with the proceeds going to the —an organization that Jill supported that works to secure social justice for the LGBTQIA community as well as reproductive rights for all.
Saturday night we, members of the songwriting group, will be honoring Jill by sharing videos and songs of hers as well as songs written under her guidance and influence. Proceeds will go to the “The Good Life Foundation.” With opportunities to give more to the Rustin Center and to Jill’s Legacy Fund.
Please join us for a deeply heartfelt evening and do like, share, and spread the word. She meant so much to so many and we want to share her legacy and incredible songs. See you Saturday with lotsa love.
