CONTEMPORARY AFRICAN SPIRITUALITY IN ART

Seeking work from African, Caribbean and African American Artists whose work focuses on responses to this curatorial statement:

Contemporary African Spirituality envisions what cultural practices have been mixed, juxtaposed and collided with ideas, themes, materiality and techniques that are both African and Modern by African and African diaspora artists.

The work of African, African American and Caribbean artists will be curated by Atim Annette Oton while examining the transformation of spirituality from traditional to modern through the eyes of these artists who reside and work across three continents: Africa, the Americas: United States and Caribbean and Europe.

The work will also show some digital art in three integrative ways to build a thesis about Contemporary African Spirituality: art pieces, digital/short movie presentations and multi-disciplinary work pieces and programming in Walsh Gallery space.  The exhibition will take place from January to May 2024.

We are seeking African, African American and Caribbean artists whose work is about the transformation of spirituality from traditional to modern and reside and work across three continents: Africa, the the Americas: United States and Caribbean and Europe.
