Welcome to October and hopefully a bit of cooler weather; I know I would like to be able to turn my A/C off for a few days and save on electricity!

I have three new works entered in the October 2024 - Bold Brush Competition for you to vote on for the month of October...running a few days late, but we've arrived.

So happy to announce that my painting "Espuelos de los Vaqueros #9" was selected in the FAV 15% in the July Bold Brush Painting Competition (FASO). I want to thank the Reviewing Committee and Judge Martin Grelle for their hard work and the opportunity to participate in the 39th Annual Bosque Art Classic in Clifton, TX this coming September. I am humbled and honored to be included. "Doc's Holiday" (30x24) oil/panel, $6,500; "Espuelos de los Vaqueros #5 (18x24) oil/panel, $4,000; and "Spit & Polish" (11x14) oil/panel; have been selected for the patrons and collectors. Thanks go out to my favorite cowboy and model Glenn Cochran for his help and the loan of the spurs, couldn't do it without you buddy! Concho Director Mr. Robert Bluthardt and his staff for the wonderful job they do in hosting the 39th Annual American Plains Artists Show and Sale, and our Judge Ms Teresa Elliott for the hard work she put into the show and the recognition of our participating artists. "Espuelos de los Vaqueros II": 20x18, oil/panel and "El Trono de los Vaquero II": 30x24, oil/panel will be available in Kerrville, Texas at the Western Art Museum on the weekend of September 8th & 9th for the 40th Roundup Sale and Exhibition. If you are in the area it is not to be missed, some of the best western art in the country is in the show. Thanks to Glenn Cochran for the use of items from his collection of western paraphernalia.
