There is an undeniable stillness in the unstill of nature. What soothes us is not stillness but slow movement — a gentle breeze, floating in warm water, the barely-perceptible lean toward light. A moment captured in complete stillness can be gorgeous, yet faintly unsettling. The subtle, continuous shifts carry their own profound calm, because they remind us that change is not something that happens to living things — it IS living things. Honoring the truth that everything we love exists in a state of gentle becoming, and that there is something deeply restful in surrendering to that — in recognizing the constancy within constant change.
