David Sieh is a contemporary naturalist painter. Born in Aberdeen, South Dakota and raised in Hastings, Minnesota, he grew up exploring the flood plains of the Mississippi River. Even as a child, nature inspired David to draw and paint as a form of communication. An early visit to Terry Redlin’s home studio encouraged him to pursue art as a career. David’s process begins with a moment of connected

ness with nature: taking in sights, smells, and sounds. That which follows is a study of these observations. The juxtaposition of industrialized and natural landscapes continues to influence his style and choice of media. David Sieh currently lives in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
