Thank you, Julian Beaudion, for your incredible leadership, passionate dedication to care, love, and constantly support our community! Happy 🇺🇸

I was honored to serve as the President of Juneteenth Sioux Falls for the last four year and to have been on the planning committee for a decade! We fought for our freedoms through state and federal legislation and we celebrated every ounce of progress because Freedom is not Free! But it is always worth fighting for! Block out the noise today and celebrate freedom and humanity!

Happy Juneteenth! This Is Our Moment!

A few words from him:

“I serve on diverse boards and committees that focuses on growing, developing, and improving our Sioux Empire and the surrounding areas in the Upper Midwest. To be able to stand in the heart of downtown Sioux Falls at Fawick Park as Grand Marshal for Juneteenth 2026 is an incredible honor. This day is for all of us—it belongs to our entire community and the ancestors whose stories we are finally unearthing.

For too long, Black history in South Dakota has been treated like a footnote, kept behind glass, or left completely untold. But when we look at the legacy of people like Alfred White Sr., who documented Black life in Sioux Falls decades ago, or the sacred community spaces like the Booker T. Washington Service Center, we see that we have always been here, vibrant and deeply rooted.

Juneteenth is our second Independence Day, a celebration of freedom, culture, and relentless resilience. And true freedom means being seen. As we march this Saturday, June 20th, we aren't just celebrating the past; we are changing the landscape of South Dakota’s history by making our legacy undeniable. I always say that the future belongs to the storytellers. This weekend, Sioux Falls, we are writing the next chapter together. Let’s keep telling our stories, loud and proud.”

Let’s congratulate him in the comments🗣️
