Today we honor the life and legacy of Pat Havens, whose love for Simi Valley and dedication to preserving its history enriched our entire community.
As City Historian, Pat devoted her life to ensuring that the stories of our pioneers, families, neighborhoods, and historic landmarks would never be forgotten. Through her tireless research, careful preservation of photographs and documents, and generous sharing of her knowledge, she helped connect generations to the people and events that shaped Simi Valley.
Pat believed that history lives through the stories we tell and the memories we preserve. Her passion inspired countless residents, students, volunteers, and visitors to appreciate our community’s unique heritage. She was always willing to answer questions, guide research, and share her enthusiasm with anyone eager to learn.
Her work with the Simi Valley Historical Society and the community leaves a lasting legacy that will continue to educate and inspire for generations to come. Because of Pat’s dedication, much of Simi Valley’s history has been preserved for those who will follow us.
While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate a life lived with purpose, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to preserving our past. Her influence will continue to be felt every time a historic story is shared, a treasured photograph is displayed, or a visitor discovers the rich history of our valley.
Pat Havens will be remembered not only as our City Historian but as a cherished friend, mentor, and advocate for preserving the heritage of Simi Valley.
Her legacy lives on in the history she protected, the lives she touched, and the community she loved.
With gratitude and deep appreciation, we honor Pat Havens' remarkable life and enduring legacy. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
