Silt Historical Park

Silt Historical Park The Silt Historical Park is a collection of historical buildings from around the area. Each building All activities at the Park are accomplished by volunteers.

The Silt Historical Society owns and operates the Silt Historical Park. The Park was started in the early 1980's on land donated by the School Board. The Library Board donated a modular building that had been the Silt Library, and is now our office and museum. The Park is open from May 1 to October 31, Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5:00pm and at any other time for special events. By agreement

with the School Board all activities at the Park are free to the public. We operate on donations and grants only. In 2012 we started having free family oriented events at the Park. We had a great barbed wire program by John Baumchen. What made it even better was descendents of Glidden, who had the first barbed wire patent, came too!

In honor of our country's 250th anniversary, we are offering free membership to all teenagers to 30 year olds for the 2026-2027 season. Just stop in at the Silt Historical Park 707 Orchard, May 1 to October 31st, Tuesday through Saturday noon to 4pm, and we'll get you set up.
