Next meeting will be August 5. Crown Point Road Tour - Jim Rowe will guide us to several locations along this historic military route built during the French and Indian War. Location: Stone School House, 6:30pm. There will be a brief business meeting first.

Following the business meeting attendees can carpool or drive themselves to the various sites.

Whitehall’s Naval Heritage Weekend is a multi-faceted historical experience combining expert-led tours, nationally recognized speakers, family-friendly programming, and community celebration.

Our next meeting will by July 1. Starts at 6:30 with a brief business meeting. Following that Jonathan Hescock will talk about Newton Academy and its role in school centralization. Chartered in 1811, the Newton Academy in Shoreham was one of the state's first private boarding schools, named for local Revolutionary War patriot Daniel C. Newton. It eventually became a public high school before closing in 1969.
Location: Stone School House on Route 22A in Shoreham.

The Memoirs of Isaac Kendall by Paul Andriscin — Paul Andriscin will talk about his recent historical fiction novel that follows a fictional Continental Army soldier during the Revolutionary War from 1776 to the Battles of Saratoga. The book uses the experiences of the fictional Kendall to provide a personal look at the hardships of 18th-century soldiering, drawing on real historical details from Mount Independence and other sources.

There will be a brief business meeting prior to the presentation. Refreshments will be served after the talk.

May 6 - The 251+1 Club of Vermont – Presented by Linda Barnard of South Starksboro. Founded in 1954, the 251 Club is an organization of Vermont enthusiasts whose objective is to visit all of the state's towns and cities. Location: Stone Schoolhouse, on Rte 22A in Shoreham, 6:30pm.

There will be a short business meeting followed by the presentation. Refreshments will be served after the presentation.
