October 11th from 1-3 pm
We will be hosting an Open House for Dr. Zoutendam. He has chosen the Prairie Arts Historical Park to have his display as a physician in Sheldon, IA.

This is being held in the former Wansink home, which is also a 1908 Sears Roebuck Mail Order Catalog Home.

We feel honored to have his display in this building. We ask that you join us in celebrating his display and thanking Dr Z for his many years as a Sheldon physician.

Please join us on Sunday afternoon from 1-3 pm, October 11th.
We will be serving coffee and cookies at this time.

If your child needs Community Service Hours this is for you! Have fun while earning community service.
We have done this free carnival at Prairie Arts Historical Park for years.. But without help it is impossible. We can’t do this without the help of the community!

If your child needs Community Service Hours we do give that.
We have done this free carnival at Prairie Arts Historical Park. But, we can’t do this without the help of the community.

Such a beautiful change to the Nelson school which houses the Werner Lode wood crafts, painting, carving etc.
Thank you Peter Vanden Berg for scraping, caulking, priming and painting the front of the school.
We also need to repainted or replace the Werner sign as well as the Nelson School sign. Much to do. But then it is a 1878 school.
Thats a 147 years. And still standing with a beautiful display in it of Werner Lode’s handiwork!
Now, to get someone who can take down the sign so we can get it painted and hang again. Anybody willing to do this for us? Contact Karin at 712-899-1748

Today my hubby is out at the Historical Park again. Not mowing, not edging the sidewalks, not trimming bushes, not pouring or painting… but
He is scraping the front of the Nelson School
Just last week two new windows were put in.
So my hubby is out scraping the front and will paint it when that is done. We do need the sign touched up… But it is higher than my hubby dares to go with his legs.
This is the front now. And he finished priming the front. Sign needs to be done yet.looks 100% better.

Nelson School at Prairie Arts Historical Park has gotten two new windows on the front of the building. This is the schoolhouse that holds all of Werner Lodes beautiful woodworking, painting and carving.
Thank you to his son Marlin Lode for purchasing the windows and for JT Construction for putting them in!
They were about to fall out because of the glazing on the windows and the trim around them.
Now if the weather stays nice the front will get scrapped and repainted.
