Looking for people who would love to make a difference.

Prairie Arts Historical Park needs you!

We have been working on getting the rails to the ramp of the old Wansink, 1908 Sears Roebuck Home scraped. Then they need to be primed and painted. As well as the window casings and door. This can not be done in temps under 40 degrees or over 90 degrees. Thus the extreme peeling.

There is also a piece of siding that the wind has caught and is hanging in front of the Sears Roebuck Mail Order Catalog home.

It is at a height that would need some type of lift to fix this.

We want to continue to keep these buildings in good shape, and to last for years to come.

If you are willing, and want to help make a big difference, please call Karin at (712) 899-1748.

Thanks in advance.

Little Picasso's took the classroom snake, made of cement pavers, outside for a sun-kissed adventure on the sidewalk, sparking joy in the young artists. The kids then unleashed their creativity with spray paint on their T-shirts, followed by a fun-filled game of Roll that Dice bringing vibrant colors to their pictures of a vase with flowers.

We Need Help From Volunteers!

The Prairie Arts Historical Park is looking for someone who knows how to reglaze old windows.
The windows on the 1878 Nelson School, which houses the Werner Lode collection, need to be reglazed before the glass falls out. These windows were done about 5-7 years ago.
They need to be done ASAP. But we have no one on the board , who knows how to do it.
If you do, and are willing to help us. We will provide whatever is needed to fix the glass.

Here is our list of things to be done on 1878
Nelson School. Which houses the Werner Lode display.
1. Building scraped & painted.
2. Some boards on building need repairing or replaced.
3. Some walkway boards in front of school need replacing.
4. Items to be hung on the walls.
5. We need to move some of the displays to make room for visitors to walk around easily.
6. The large sign on the building needs to be taken down and repaired and repainted
We pray we find a volunteer or several volunteers who would be willing to bring this school back to its original beauty.
