All of my life I have been interested in collecting things and making something with them. I love to help people learn to create, paint, speak another language, learn some guitar chords, crochet something, recycle or upcycle, macramé, flower arrangements, decorate, do handmade Christmas gifts....etc...etc...The main thing is to work on something you enjoy doing. I have given classes on acrylic and
oil painting, oils being my favorite, had work set up in galleries, done a lot of shows won a lot of ribbons, judged shows, but what I enjoy most is seeing the smile on someone's face after they completed something. I have taken 4 college years of Spanish, taught Spanish at isothermal community college, given classes to children, substitute teacher at an elementary school, translated for a lot of textile companies, translated detailed product paperwork, fax sheets to send overseas, and pricing sheets for businesses, set up bank accounts here in the US for Spanish people around the world so they could buy products here, but the most interesting for me was translating for judges in the court system when they were prosecuting Hispanics, for attys, in the jail system so they would have representation. It was very interesting work to say the least.I post a lot of do it yourself things to my page "Catherine's arts, crafts, gifts and paintings in hopes that someone will learn something they like and do it. If I can help anyone at all and they can take something from my page and use it...that makes me happy! Enjoy your life and be creative! The mind is a wonderful thing, even if you can only draw stick figures...if you try something new...you just might like it!!!
