Did You Know that we have a Creek Fire Resiliency exhibit at the museum?

Look through the one-of-a-kind photo book put together by the Shaver lake Fire Department and see through the eyes of the firefighters and first responders who worked on the fire, flip through a copy of The Creek fire Storytelling Project (also available in our gift shop) and read the stories from residents who lived through the burn, and learn more about how we can continue to protect our forests going forward.



We are open Friday - Sunday, from 11:00am-3:00pm through December 20th.

Did You Know that this Victor & Lock Co. safe was used at the Bretz Brothers Store at the Bretz Mill in Shaver Lake from 1916-1942? Before it made its way to Shaver, the safe was used at the L.W. Gibson Store, which was built in 1898 by Lewis Gilbson, the first mayor of Clovis. It now resides here at the museum and is a very popular exhibit to view, mostly in part to the extremely detailed artwork adorning both the inside and outside of the safe. You'll definitely want to come see this piece of history, and art, in person!
