Do you remember the A-1 Diner? This is what it looked like when it was owned by Tony and Misty Rippee. Do you have photos of the building when it was red or was that orange? Does anyone have photos of the inside? Who all worked there? It used to be owned by Glenn Barret, then by Wilda Helms. Who was your favorite waitress? Do you remember "Skeeter" Juanita Clifton?

"100 Memories from 100 Years"

The Seymour Area History Museum is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the School Moms Building, built in 1926, with a special community project titled "100 Memories from 100 Years." For generations, the School Moms Building has been an important part of Seymour's history. It has served many purposes through the years, including as the community library, and today is home to the Museum.
The Museum is asking the community to help preserve the building's rich history by sharing memories. Did you live in the building? Work there? Visit the library as a child? Attend an event? We want to hear your story! Memories may be your own, a story passed down by a family member, or even a photograph that captures the building's history. Every memory helps tell the story of this special place.
Please send your memories by September 30 to: Seymour Area History Museum, PO Box 265, Seymour, MO 65746 or hand deliver them to the Museum at 213 W Market St, Seymour, MO. The Museum is open Friday, 1-4 and Saturday 9-Noon. You may also email your memories to [email protected].
The Museum's goal is to collect 100 memories to commemorate the 100 years of the School Moms Building and celebrate the people whose lives have been touched by this remarkable landmark.

As we are celebrating our nation's 250th birthday next weekend, the museum will be closed on both Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th.
