In honor of Juneteenth, we’re looking back on a meaningful morning spent with Mary Pettway of Gee’s Bend who shared the rich history and storytelling woven into the quilting traditions of Gee’s Bend.

We are grateful to have partnered with Selma EDA, Old Cahawba Archeological Park, and Alabama Historical Commission to make this possible.

Today we honor the art, history, and voices that continue to share the stories we need to hear.
