✨ MEET GUEST ARTISTS: ESTHER SIEGEL & SPENCER BREWER
Sebastopol Gallery | October 6 – November 28, 2026
GALLERY RECEPTION: SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 4-6pm
We’re thrilled to welcome Esther Siegel and Spencer Brewer as guest artists at Sebastopol Gallery!
Together, Esther and Spencer transform the familiar into something unexpected—creating art from found objects, vintage treasures, mechanical parts, and the wonderful “stuff” collected over a lifetime. Their work invites us to look again, discover hidden possibilities, and find a little whimsy along the way.
🎨 Esther Siegel is a later-in-life artist who began her creative journey through scrapbooking, book art, and card making. Once she discovered she could “draw and paint” with objects, she was hooked. Working from her barn studio, Esther combines objects in surprising ways, creating assemblages filled with whimsy, optimism, harmony, and light. Her love of horses, interest in psychotherapy, and admiration for Frida Kahlo often find their way into her work.
🎵 Spencer Brewer is a lifelong musician, composer, and assemblage artist who transforms vintage mechanical treasures into fantastical sculptures. His years of working on pianos, gramophones, and pump organs gave him a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship and ingenious designs of instruments from the 1830s through the 1920s.
Spencer rescues the often-hidden inner workings of these beautiful machines—along with other unusual vintage objects—and gives them a new life in his “High Whimsey” sculptures. His work is playful, surprising, and often wonderfully humorous, while carrying forward the history and character of the objects themselves.
✨ Two artists. Two very different approaches. One shared love of transforming the unexpected into art.
Come to Sebastopol Gallery to discover their work, and see what happens when imagination meets a lifetime collection of wonderful things!
