a note from the founder:
last night was really lovely, and we just wanna say thank you to newcomers and regulars alike for trying out new programming in the space. it’s always cool to see Asylum through other people’s eyes, the ways the space can be used, the unique layout and experience when there’s fresh perspectives. we’ve been doing this for a while now, and i’ve learned to be very precious with who we let have free reign of the space— not everyone has had respect for the hand built, volunteer nature of what we do, and it’s made me a little hesitant to let in what could be destructive, disrespectful, or otherwise simply trying to force us to be something we’re not. I have never, ever felt that way about Basement Stash, and it’s honestly a delight and an honour we get to host them quarterly. To many more playful, loud, silly, weird, gorgeous nights together.

💦Use Protection: A Masked Pride Event💗 21+ N95 or better required at the door. Our space has HEPA grade filters throughout the public areas, plus in and out privileges (drinks don't leave the venue tho!) Grab masks, condoms, fent testing strips, narcan and more.
We can only keep putting on masked event if 👁🧠👁 you show up. If no one comes, these events go away 😔.

Our monthly 18+ MASKED goth night returns with DJ momo spins at the helm of an evening where your desire begins... or ends? Delight in $5 drink specials, tarot readings and a checkered dance floor to entrance a much willing prey.
All door proceeds go towards maskblockseattle and cltree 's fundraisers.
Dress code strictly enforced. Masks required.

The first Thursday of every month, Pioneer Square's galleries and art spaces open up for ART WALK.
We set up an open workshop with charcoals and more with a live model!
We'll have a femme-fronted marketplace with creators, artists, clothes, records and more-- plus tattoos, things like henna and tooth gems, and live DJs!
ALWAYS FREE! ALWAYS ALL AGES! + café and wine bar open!

After a lot of consideration in light of-- well-- *everything* that's going on right now, we're happy to say we're offering most of our summer courses at a heavily discounted rate.
Taught by our incredible teacher and working artist, Ava.
We are delighted to be able to provide students with their own set of brushes and palette knives as well as the salves to maintain them as a part of our commitment to giving you everything you need to keep up your practice. The initial investment in any new craft is often the deterrent, and we hope that this addition will enable students to use their new knowledge.
