What choices are part of an artist’s process? On an “Artistic Choices” tour at the Seattle Art Museum, students will investigate and critique works of art of diverse eras, cultures, materials, and scales. Contextual information provided on the tour will enrich dialogue to deepen students’ connection, and students will reflect on how these techniques and concepts can apply to their art making. All this year, the leaders of SAM’s Teen Art’s Group (TAG) have been hard at work creating an in-gallery audio guide to accompany visitors through the galleries of “American Art: The Stories We Carry.” Scan the QR codes next to various artworks on view during your next visit to SAM to reflect on themes of representation, heritage, and the narratives that shape American history alongside SAM’s teen leaders.
