In 9 days opens its doors for the first time to welcome into the world a 66,000 square foot contemporary art center set to amplify and support the artists, makers and performers that call the Pacific Northwest home. It’s ambitious, unconventional, and celebrates a wide range of creatives, from indigenous canoe carvers to fashion designers to digital artists and all points in between.

From the producers of , Out of Sight, the small but mighty Museum of Museums, and in partnership with Cannonball Arts was built with the confidence and admiration of our creative community and we hope you can join us on Friday, August 15 to see and celebrate this rare addition to downtown Seattle. Is Seattle on the cusp of an arts renaissance? There sure is a lot of energy downtown these days, with .camp.studios, .space and doubling down and presenting studio space, exhibitions and a host of new opportunities to our region’s artists.

Cannonball Arts, a new partnership between and is scheduled to open this spring in the old Bed, Bath and Beyond space. At 66,000 sq ft it will become the largest contemporary art center in the history of Seattle, and their first 20 calls for artists and curators is an exciting portrait of what’s to come. Good things are happening in Seattle and it’s time to jump in!

MoM is closing its doors forever on Friday, September 1st, which means you have just two chances (Thursday 5-10 and Friday 12-10) to see it one last time.

Whether you've never been here before or have been part of the MoM family since the beginning, we invite you to join us for one last unforgettable museum experience as a warm, but final goodbye.

MoM has been a home for great art and great people, and on the last day, we will celebrate it all, and invite you to join us!

Mini-museum!!💓

Artist Bio:
Rufina Nechama Futureself
A healer and artist, Rufina brings her community together with ritual. Creating patterns that sing comfort, ease, and loving attention into the old wounds—and dream the path forward with living energy.

Rufina will invite you to participate in finding the patterns, building an altar to support their work, and share a cup of tea infused from dandelion flowers. She lives with two cats in a small cottage surrounded by flowers, herbs, and native plants. She has 4 of every dish, just enough to offer simple meals at her round kitchen table to the folks who frequently drop by to visit. Her home is simple and full of light with a couch for napping, a chair for reading—just enough seating for cozy cups of tea with her visitors.

As we prepare for our closure on September 1st, we continue to revisit the exhibitions that shaped us.

Today, we time travel to the summer of 2022, when we hosted a surreal and opulent feast, 'Salon Delicatessen' by Orly Anan in the True Space.

Orly's work is born from the mysticism inherent in everyday life, where spirituality is defined as the consciousness of the energy that unites and interweaves everything. 'Salon Delicatessen' introduced us to its mysterious characters through sculpture, video, prints, and costumes.

Tonight, Thursday, August 24th, join us in the Kitchen at MoM for solo show by Katlyn Hubner ().

Explore a series of large scale oil paintings featuring portraits of Seattle-based drag queens alongside a video installation by Stephen Anunson (.phan) who has been documenting and collaborating with the talented cast of figures for years.

As always, the first floor is free and open to public, just enter on Broadway.

September 1st marks the final day for all of our current and future programming at MoM. Over the course of our final few weeks, we want to take a moment to reflect on some our earliest memories at the museum and the artists that made it possible.

"Energy Drink” by Neon Saltwater () and Brian Sanchez () was our very first immersive installation, heightening the emotional potential of interior spaces and setting a precedent for what the space could become. It conjured a surreal feeling of familiarity in a place you’ve never been, imparting the discomfort of sitting in a dystopian present, and the pleasure of light that warps the world at its edges. Whatever your level, Energy Drink was there for the highs and lows.

A collaboration between digital artist Neon Saltwater and abstract painter Brian Sanchez (), Energy Drink created a found and fabricated environment that transformed the mundane into a contemplative experience through color, interior design, lighting, and the elusive euphoria of vacant and transitory spaces. Neon Saltwater’s uncanny interiors became a life-size fantasy set, a minimalist stage for Brian Sanchez’s paintings and sculptures. The rich paintings used an emotive palette that responded to the lighting design and activated the pervasive loneliness buzzing between the roomscapes.

Energy Drink made abstraction tangible.

For the past 3 years,Timothy has been an integral part in making The Kitchen a hub for artists, featuring new work on a weekly basis. The Factory has showcased the artwork of more than 100+ artists from the local community and far beyond.✨

Tonight, let’s come together to reminisce and celebrate 3 unforgettable years of the Factory programming in the Kitchen at MoM!

The show is free and open to the general public. If you’d like to see our current summer programming, including “SOFT TOUCH” and “SEA OF VAPORS”, the museum admission is only $5 during the Capitol Hill Art Walk ().

We thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support over the past few days- closing is not easy, but your warmth helped remind us of the many bright moments at MoM.

There is still one month to experience the space and several brand new exhibitions that are not to be missed!

Visit us this weekend for the final Mall with MoM () this Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 in the parking lot next door✨This iconic vintage market has become more than just a place to find a new outfit, but a community of creatives that will be dearly missed.

Many guests made a tradition out of visiting Mall with MoM monthly. Whether you’ve made it every month for the past two years, or attending for your first time, this weekend’s event is not to be skipped.

Stop by to search for goodies from local vendors, get a taste of fresh squeezed juice by DD’s Mercantile (), accessorize with some tooth magic by Natalie (), and maybe even get a tattoo by Jules ().

Dear Community,

We hope you had an art-filled weekend in Seattle and were able to witness some of the great exhibits and events that centered around the Seattle Art Fair. It was great seeing those that made it out to our ‘Official Unofficial Art Fair After Party’ - it was a festive night and great opportunity to showcase our current exhibits at MoM to a host of out of town art enthusiasts, alongside friends, artists and patrons. It was also a chance to see new works at MoM, including a new front door mural by Susan Dory (), a new exhibit by Monyee Chau (), and our petite Locker #141 by Jessie Weitzel Le Grand ().

All of this excitement and new works come at the moment that we have some difficult and sad news to relay, and with a heavy heart, we are announcing the closure of the museum on September 1, 2023.
