It's Montag Monday with photos from Seaside photographer William Montag in the early 20th century.

Here's our final "cute kids posing on the Prom railing in Montag's studio" series. What a smile this little guy has! This also shows some of the damage that we deal with on these photos, it can be fixed, but this is what they look like unretouched.

The first Hood to Coast finish line in Seaside. Originally Hood to Coast ended in Pacific City, but it soon outgrew that small coastal location and moved to Seaside where it continues today.

The Museum's Dahlia Show on Saturday was a big success with over 400 people attending to view the gorgeous flowers and to purchase bouquets to take home thanks to donations by our flower growers. Judges from the Portland Dahlia Society and the Seaside's Sou' Wester Garden Club presented ribbons to many of those that entered their blooms. Co-chair Teresa Taylor is standing near the breathtaking arrangements entries. Attendees not only enjoyed the blooms but wandered through the Museum's two building and learned more about Seaside's history, including the history of the Dahlia Show which started in 1909.

It was such a success that we're already planning next year's event for Saturday, August 21, 2027! Mark your calendar to enter your blooms and to wander the Butterfield Heirloom Garden at the Museum to see what your neighbors are growing.
