πŸ’₯Two worlds collided in Season 7 of π˜›π˜©π˜¦ π˜–π˜§π˜§π˜ͺ𝘀𝘦 (𝘜𝘚) when Michael Scott, portrayed by Steve Carell, came face-to-face with his British counterpart from π˜›π˜©π˜¦ π˜–π˜§π˜§π˜ͺ𝘀𝘦 (π˜œπ˜’) David Brent, played by Ricky Gervais.

Pictured here is the outfit Gervais, who created the original π˜›π˜©π˜¦ π˜–π˜§π˜§π˜ͺ𝘀𝘦 and served as producer and occasional writer on the American adaptation, wore in the episode β€œThe Seminar.” In one of the series’ most memorable crossover moments, David and Michael meet in an elevator, bonding over awkward humor, tasteless cultural stereotypes, and a perfectly delivered β€œThat’s what she said” delivered by David. David returns later that season in a cringe-worthy video interview for the open managerial position at Dunder Mifflin when Michael leaves.

On a related note, the 25th Anniversary of the FIRST episode of π˜›π˜©π˜¦ π˜–π˜§π˜§π˜ͺ𝘀𝘦 (π˜œπ˜’) is coming up this summer. Written by Stephen Merchant and Ricky Gervais, the 1first episode was screened on BBC Two on July 9, 2001. The sitcom was presented as a mock documentary, based in the Slough, England (UK) branch of the paper supply company Wernham Hogg.

To mark this date, we are hosting an event here at the Everhart on Thursday, July 9 where we will discuss plans for an upcoming trip from Scranton to Slough! Stay tuned for details…

Thank you to everyone who came out this past Friday for π˜›π˜©π˜¦ π˜–π˜§π˜§π˜ͺ𝘀𝘦 Meet & Greet with Bobby Ray Shafer, who played Bob Vance in the series, and Jim McDermott, who served as leadman assisting the set decorator! It was the perfect opportunity for Shafer to stop in as he was in town for the weekend’s ever-popular The Office 5K

Fans learned about what it was like working on π˜›π˜©π˜¦ π˜–π˜§π˜§π˜ͺ𝘀𝘦 both on-camera and behind the scenes. Shafer gave insight into his portrayal of Bob Vance, famous for his regular introduction β€œBob Vance, Vance Refrigeration” and as husband of the loveable Phyllis Vance, and McDermott discussed how he helped make the set feel authentically Scranton by sourcing props from around the area.

πŸŽƒ The Season 9 episode of π˜›π˜©π˜¦ π˜–π˜§π˜§π˜ͺ𝘀𝘦 titled β€œHere Comes Treble” features one of Dwight Schrute’s most unforgettable and ill-fated pranks. Attempting to scare his coworkers, he places this jack-o’-lantern, currently on view in π˜›π˜©π˜¦ π˜–π˜§π˜§π˜ͺ𝘀𝘦 𝘌𝘹𝘩π˜ͺ𝘣π˜ͺ𝘡π˜ͺ𝘰𝘯, on his head.

Unfortunately for Dwight, the pumpkin becomes stuck, even though he'd coated his head with Vaseline. He must spend the rest of the day wearing it, confidently insisting it will β€œrot off” eventually.

Was it all worth successfully scaring poor Erin Hannon?πŸŽƒ

πŸ€ March Madness tips off today, and we’re celebrating with a fun pop culture connection!

In keeping with π˜›π˜©π˜¦ π˜–π˜§π˜§π˜ͺπ˜€π˜¦β€™s tradition of using Scranton-sourced props to add authenticity to the set, a bobblehead of Gerry McNamara, the Syracuse Orange legend and Scranton native, made an appearance on Dwight Schrute’s desk, right beside his own mini-me.

A standout guard for the Syracuse Orange men's basketball, McNamara started every game of his college career from 2002 to 2006 and helped lead the team to its first national championship in 2003.

While Syracuse didn’t make the tournament this year, the team McNamara now coaches, the Siena Saints men's basketball, did!

πŸ• Among the many Scranton establishments that made an appearance on π˜›π˜©π˜¦ π˜–π˜§π˜§π˜ͺ𝘀𝘦 is AlfredosCafe Scranton , and it served as the focus of one the series’ most memorable episodes, the Season 4 classic β€œLaunch Party”! πŸ•

When Michael proudly announces he’s ordered pizza for the office, excitement quickly turns to dismay as the staff realizes he’s confused Alfredo’s Pizza CafΓ©, the real and beloved Scranton spot, with the Pizza by Alfredo, a dreaded establishment that was made up for the show.

The mistake prompted one of the show’s most iconic lines when Kevin describes the pizza as β€œa hot circle of garbage.” The situation escalates even further as Michael’s coupon is rejected and he refuses to let the teenage delivery driver leave until the dispute is resolved.

Thank you to Alfredo’s Pizza CafΓ© for providing us with this mug and shirt, which says β€œHome of the β€˜Good Pizza’” in reference to the episode!

✨ π˜–π˜§π˜§π˜ͺ𝘀𝘦 wardrobe highlight ✨

πŸ‘” This dapper outfit was worn by Oscar Martinez, played by Oscar NuΓ±ez, in the Season 9 episode β€œNew Guys.” In the episode, Oscar is involved in a subplot involving co-worker Angela Martin and her cat–a situation that ends up revealing his secret affair with Angela's husband, Senator Robert Lipton.

It’s a clean, classic look that’s very on brand for one of Dunder Mifflin’s few understated employees.
