🎨 Join us in celebrating Lackawanna County Library System's 𝘛𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘪 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘴 at the Everhart through September 27. This exhibition features young artists from across Northeastern Pennsylvania who created miniature works of art on 4″ x 4″ canvases during the free Summerquest program hosted by the library system.

A special weekend in Nay Aug Park is coming up next month! 🇺🇸

We’re excited to host Rakin’ in the Fun Community Day on October 3 and honored to be part of a special weekend alongside The Wall That Heals Vietnam memorial, which will be on view in the park October 2–4.

We hope you’ll join us as we come together to learn about, honor, and remember our veterans.

🇺🇸🇺🇸 Veteran Sam Kuchwara of Dickson City on Wednesday led the Pledge of Allegiance at the Board of Commissioners meeting at the Lackawanna County Government Center, 123 Wyoming Ave., Scranton.

Kuchwara also announced that the Traveling Vietnam Wall, honoring veterans of the Vietnam War, will make a stop at Nay Aug Park, 500 Arthur Ave., Scranton, from Oct. 2 to 4. The event will feature the "Cost of Freedom" display honoring service members from WWII through Operation Enduring Freedom. The Everhart Museum, 1901 Mulberry St., Scranton, will host its 5th annual Rakin’ in the Fun Community Day on Saturday, Oct. 3, from noon to 4 p.m. in conjunction with the traveling wall exhibit.

☀️ And just like that, our final Summertime Happy Hour of the year is here, and we’re excited to welcome back Mark Woodyatt Violin!

Join us tomorrow, Thursday, September 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. as we give summer a proper sendoff ahead of Labor Day weekend with live music and drinks in the galleries of the Everhart 🎻🍷

AV Restaurant & Lounge will be on hand with a cash bar featuring a fine selection of beer and wine from 5 to 7 p.m.

Happy Hour is included with general Museum admission.

Our great blue heron has once again returned to the Everhart pond! 🐦💦

Every year in the late summer/early fall he comes around to wade in the water, no doubt looking for koi. What a beautiful sight!

🌌📸 From the Everhart to 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘎𝘦𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘤!

Artist Sean Parker Photography , whose photography is on view at the Everhart in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘈𝘣𝘰𝘷𝘦: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰-𝘗𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘳, open through November 15, was just featured in 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘎𝘦𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘤 for his stunning night-sky photography!

✨ And one of the photographs in the article is included in the exhibition! The photograph captures the Milky Way stretching above the calm water and rugged peak of the Convict Lake in California’s Mono County 🏔️🌌

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

Today we are celebrating a very good boy from the Everhart Museum collection!

Right in the middle of this painting, perched proudly on a rock above the flock, you’ll find a happy-looking pup watching over his herd 🐕🐑

He may be on the job, but he certainly looks like he’s having fun, with those bright eyes and that sweet expression. Would you boop his nose? We certainly would!👆🐶

Working dogs have been trusted companions and partners for generations, helping herd livestock and protect the animals in their care. This charming little detail gives us a glimpse into the important role dogs have played in both work and everyday life.

So today, we’re giving this good boy the attention he deserves ❤️
