Michelle Thomas works primarily in acrylic and watercolor, drawing inspiration from the natural world around her. Through her work, she seeks to bring attention to the beauty of nature that is so often overlooked in our daily lives. Her first series explored the familiar roads we travel each day, revealing how changing seasons and shifting light transform even the most ordinary scenes. This naturally led her to look more closely at the plant life growing along those roads, where the remarkable variety and beauty of what we often call weeds frequently goes unnoticed. By highlighting these overlooked plants, she invites viewers to appreciate their quiet beauty and their vital role in our ecology.
