The cross on top of Happy Jack has gone dark. Wind destroyed the power pole. The hill is still safe for climbing. All electricity has been shut off

Will be planting the beginnings of a butter fly garden at Happy Jack this fall thanks to a grant from Keep the Loup Basin Beautiful

Had a bunch of visitors over the Memorial Day Week end - Season is off to a good start. - Have planted more flowers, are creating another sitting area, and Gordon has volunteered to paint the picnic tables. Have a supply of t-shirts, North Loup popcorn, and key chains are on the way.

Today is opening day for Happy Jack Chalk Mine - Will be planting more flowers today (in the rain) Hilltop Greenhouse in Scotia gave us bunches of Marigolds, and Impatients. That will fill a pot and began to top off the concrete blocks. I suggest visiting Hilltop Greenhouse, it is full of wonderful items for your yard. We also have a couple of flower barrels filled courtesy of the Pea Patch just west of Burwell, another awesome place to visit.
