The Scio Historical Society brings news regarding the "forks" book (Scio in the Forks of the Santiam) - this is the third printing of the book. This past week, the book in electronic form was submitted to the printer. There will be a run for binding as a soft cover (called Perfect Bound) and the rest will be headed to a book binder for a hard cover edition. The proofs were approved on Thursday and is in production now. The soft bound will be available either by the end of this week or early next week. The hard bound will be after that, though the timeframe is not yet determined. The hard bound will closely resemble the original hardbound with the only difference being the actual cover material (the original is discontinued). Being in electronic form, modern tools such as Photoshop have been utilized to enhance the photos.
Cost:
• Softbound: $55.00
• Hardbound: $85.00
This printing run will be 50 of each style. The good news is that since it is now in electronic, performing another printing run is feasible if/when we run out of this set of books for sale.
There is a list of people that have indicated their interest and those people will be contacted first. There is likely to be people out of town where shipping is necessary, so once we have the books in both styles, we can calculate the shipping costs that would be added to the total. We are able to process credit cards using Square.
