The Schroon North Hudson Historical Society Victorian Tea Committee is very sorry and sad to announce that the 2026 Annual Victorian Tea has been CANCELLED for this year. This was not an easy decision to come too, as the committee loves to bring this program to our community each year and it is one of our biggest fundraisers. Many hours of hard work have already gone in to making sure it would be a successful and fun event, with many volunteers stepping up to help.

Sadly, the community did not embrace the event this year and tickets sales were extremely low. We understand that community members love to have tea at a historic home, however this year we did not have any historic homeowners willing to host the event. In searching, we were blessed to have the Schroon Lake Community Church step up and offer their space to hold our annual tea and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their generosity.

The current Schroon Lake Community Church may be a new building but the ground it stands on is not, and it is a cherished corner that has seen many a romance form and many a married couple walk up those stairs and into the church to start their lives as a married couple. Children and adults alike have been taught to be kind and love their neighbors from within those walls of both the old church and the new church. History is not always with in the walls of a private home, it is also with in the buildings that so many people have worked in, loved in, and so much more.

Once again, we are sorry for the cancellation, and we thank those few folks that were supportive and purchased tickets for the event. If you purchased a ticket(s), you may return to the venue you purchased them from and you will receive a full refund.
