MEET THE MACKEYS

"Laura and Fred were both born in Savannah, GA and were high school sweethearts. Fred served in the Navy and spent many years in real estate. In the 1980s, he and Laura owned and operated six childcare centers. Today, ABC Childcare is the oldest privately owned childcare business in Savannah. They still own and operate it today.

The Mackey House was built on part of Laura’s grandfather’s 440-acre dairy farm, inherited in the 1970s. The Mackey House was born when the Mackey’s eldest daughter got married at their dream home before they even had a chance to move in.

Laura and Fred are very much involved in the day-to-day running of the venue and are often found hosting events. They are very attuned to southern hospitality, treating everyone as a special guest—there are no “strangers” here!"

Laura and Fred Mackey (owners) shared a dance at their annual Christmas Party alongside their children and their spouses, while their grandson sang. Sharing their beautiful home for moments like these is what it is all about!

NEW CLIMATE CONTROL 🤍✨

The new and improved pavilion is upgraded with the most advanced climate control! No longer do we have the clear tent but in its place a new permanent structure with air and heat control as well as automatic clear sides that can shelter without losing the view of the beautiful lush greenery surrounding the property. Your guests will remain comfortale while still being wow’d by The Mackey House grounds. Truly the best of both worlds!!!
