Andrew County Museum Andrew County Museum celebrates a rural way of life and the history of Andrew County, Missouri through exhibits, programs, publications, and special events.

The award winning exhibit titled "A Rural Way of Life", interprets the rich heritage of Andrew County from 1841 into the 21st century. It explores the history of farming, as well as small towns by comparing and contrasting life on the farm with small town living showing change over time.
* Learn how families pulled together to make their farms a success.
*View how kitchens in farmhouses changed ov

er time.
* Take home recipes for fried chicken from 1900 and Swiss steak from 1950.
* Enjoy a segment of a silent movie, projected on the side of a brick building just as it was in the early 1900s.
* Visit a general store.
* Learn about the cycle of life in rural areas, from childhood to family life to death.
* Hear old-time radio program from the 1930s.

The last day of Colonial Camp was today at the Andrew County Museum. We had a talk from Hannah Bretz about the differences between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, Declaration of Independence trivia, made lanterns and learned about Paul Revere, a scavenger hunt, a fire brigade race, and a stick horse race

Day 2 at Colonial Camp at the Andrew County Museum was another fun day! The rain held off until we were done!

The American Legion were here and taught the kids about flag etiquette and how to fold a flag, played colonial games, heard about spies in the revolutionary war and learned how to decode messages, had Johnny cakes for a snack(thanks Carlton), 3-legged sack races, egg on spoon races, quill pen writing and made silhouettes. Was a fun, busy morning!!
