Painter Ulala Imai transports viewers into a visual oasis in this Permanent Collection work "Break Time." ☀️🏝️

Often inspired by her children’s toys, Imai paints this close-up scene of a Snoopy Lifeguard plushie with soft loose brushstrokes, creating a sense of familiarity and closeness.

Imai currently lives and works in Kanagawa, Japan. We are so thrilled to have this special work by her in our collection!

Ulala Imai, "Break time," 2022, oil on canvas, 51 1/8 x 63 3/4 in. SCAD Museum of Art Permanent Collection, gift of Pulse Project, Inc.
