An enchanting display awaits at DESIGN MIAMI. PARIS

Welcoming visitors to the space, bespoke tufted flooring by Abel Macias (B.F.A., illustration, 2002) graces the original 18th-century staircase, demonstrating his affinity for conveying narratives through the interplay of vibrant colors and shapes.

Suspended from the ceiling, Gretchen Wagner’s (M.F.A., painting, 2023; B.F.A., fibers, 2011) sculptural paper installation descends down in sherbet-toned gradients with embellished embroidery.

Evan Baker’s (B.F.A., furniture design, 2025) credenza blends sophisticated functionality with eccentric flair, highlighting his complex wood grain patterning and exquisite workmanship.
Two ceramic stools by Anne Weber Callahan (B.F.A., furniture design, 2019) bear the delicate mark of the artist’s hand, highlighting her attention to cradling the body as well as to the intrinsic character of clay.

Diaphanous hues emanate from Katie Hagen’s (M.F.A., fibers, 2023; M.A., production design, 2023) natural-dyed silk organza weaving, bringing elegance into the everyday, while six sculptural lamps by Marcelo Suro (B.F.A., industrial design, 2022) emphasize texture, mass, and translucency through the merging of hand-blown glass and volcanic stone.

Have a seat at the table and journey through an eerily obscured Chinese restaurant in “Phantom Banquet.” 🪑

Through this virtual reality installation, artist Lap-See Lam takes viewers into another dimension from the viewpoint of a waitress based in 1978 Stockholm, who encounters ghostly apparitions in a banquet room from times gone by.

Travel through this sensory experience that boldly blends physical space with virtual reality.

In the debut museum presentation of Lucy Charlesworth Freeman’s work, the artist explores the unseen dimensions of human experience. Both in dialogue with and distinct from the work of her mother, Sarah Charlesworth, Freeman’s practice examines the relationship between the material and immaterial, giving visual form to questions of perception, the soul, and spiritual transformation.

Andrew Kuo’s “Attachments,” is a wide-ranging exhibition that invites visitors into his world, offering a singular perspective on various topics from “Things I want to be alive for” to “Things I’m bad at.” These ten works from the past ten years provide a space for vulnerability and shared connection.

For the past year, Tremaine Emory has been in and out of Savannah, Georgia, working on his first retrospective at the SCAD Museum of Art: an exhibition titled "Tremaine Emory: Denim Tears From the Pool of Black Genius."

The project, which spans a foyer and two grand gallery spaces and is tied to the museum’s 15th anniversary, is buttressed by artifacts from the Denim Tears founder's life: personal ephemera and designs, including unreleased sneakers, and a humble sampling from his vast collection of T-shirts.

Catch the final days of “The Sky I Keep” at through Sunday, Oct. 4!

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Othiana Roffiel (SCAD B.F.A., painting, 2012) for an insightful conversation on her artistic practice and solo exhibition “The Sky I Keep” alongside SCAD Museum of Art’s associate curator, Brittany Richmond.

In “The Sky I Keep,” natural phenomena interconnect with the human body, as abstractions evolve through soft light and an ethereal color palette.
