Saratoga Arts is a non-profit arts service organization dedicated to developing and promoting a thriving year-round cultural environment in Saratoga-area communities. Since 1997, Saratoga Arts has operated The Arts Center at the corner of Broadway and Spring Street in Saratoga Springs, where it welcome viewers to exciting art exhibits, stimulates students of all ages and skill levels in a wide variety of art classes and workshops, presents performances of all genres and hosts programs by other arts organization, and funds many programs that bring the arts to every corner of Saratoga. In 2010, the organization was awarded five pieces of World Trade Center steel from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; regional artists John Van Alstine and Noah Savett transformed the material into a large scale sculpture called Tempered By Memory, and upon its completion, Saratoga Arts donated the work to the City of Saratoga Springs for permanent display at High Rock Park. Directed by a professional staff and a volunteer Board of Directors, with support from many community volunteers, Saratoga Arts enriches the lives of those who live, work in, and visit the Saratoga region and has established itself as a vital force for the arts in upstate New York. Many Saratoga Arts programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M.

Saratoga Arts is proud to have partnered with NYSCA once again to implement the CHARM program! This year, we oversaw the installation of six new murals throughout the Mohawk Valley, as well as a seventh on Beekman Street in Saratoga Springs’ very own Arts District.

Each artist has a deep connection to the community where their mural was created and was encouraged to engage fellow artists throughout the process, bringing a unique educational component to each project. By sharing their knowledge and experience in large-scale formats, these muralists helped build skills and inspire other members of their communities to continue beautifying their surroundings through public art.

Opening reception of Changing Terrain and Stones of Remembrance this Friday, October 16th 6:00-8:00 pm! Free and open to the public.

On Friday, we will also be sharing photographs from recently completed murals as part of the CHARM Initiative, led by NYSCA and launched by Kathy Hochul. Saratoga Arts supported the creation of 7 murals in Schoharie, Herkimer, Montgomery, Fulton, Oneida, Saratoga, and Otsego counties

Artists Anne Ackerson, Philip Sciubba, Rachael Lorimer, Matt Chinian, and Tom Fox show in Changing Terrain exploring the wonder of landscape and nature through photographic, abstract, and naturalistic methods. The exhibition showcases both the exuberance and the melancholy of landscape, encapsulating the continuous inspiration and beauty of the natural world as well as the undercurrent of the destructive impact of the climate crisis. Each work shares the shifting nature of the environment through growth and decay, light and shadow, grandeur and mundanity, quiet and tumultuous.

Stones of Remembrance: Linda Bayer Solo Exhibition - While trying to recognize and fit the puzzle pieces of my life together, I created 3 simple drawings as a remembrance of the seismic internal shifts occurring within. Using only the calligraphic scribblings already established in my previous work as communication from beyond, The Three Ebenezers gratefully depict the paradoxical nature of intense emotions: Ebenezer #1 - Angry or devastated but rescued and soothed Ebenezer #2 - unmoored, looking for answers while assured of an emerging plan of true safety and security Ebenezer #3 - Earthbound but with a new and thrilling level of awakening. Sometime later I realized that these 3 “diary entries” were to be the basis of a whole new body of work…many stones of remembrance, able to encompass multiple sources and mediums, all fitting under the magnanimous umbrella of the first three Ebenezers.

We still have spots open in:

🌟Creative Journaling, Each week will have a new theme and creative prompt to spark curiosity and experimentation. Through art and writing, we will create a journal to self-expression, inspiration, mark-making, and reflective writing.

🌟Quilt Motif Embroidery Sampler, You'll learn nine classic stitches creating a quilt inspired piece of embroidery.

🌟Acrylic Painting: Collage, Participants will learn techniques in creating mixed media pieces incorporating acrylic paint and collage elements.

🌟Pattern Making, We will go over making seamless repeating patterns, tessellations, and combing the two. We'll talk about color choices, translating patterns into digital, and the basic structure of a pattern.

🌟Explore Tetra Pak Printmaking, Incise, carve, peel away, and add collage elements onto recycled food container that we will ink, wipe, and transfer your image to paper. For the duration of the class you will have open studio access to continue creating outside of class hours.

🌟Intro to Copper Etching, Etching is a printmaking technique where an image is created by incising lines into the plate. You will be guided through the whole etching and printing process, from drawing your image on the plate and etching, to inking and printing on the press. For the duration of the class you will have open studio access to continue creating outside of class hours.

🌟Mandala & Zentangle, Discover the joy of mindful drawing, we'll go over the patterns and structures of Zentangle and mandala creating intricate designs from simple and repetitive marks.

🌟The Power of a Limited Palette: Colored Pencils, Participants will learn basic color theory, how colors work together, and how to select 3-5 colors to create cohesion and harmony in your art.

🌟Weaving Open Studio, Studio time is available for students with weaving experience. Registration covers the sole use of a loom for a 5-week period.

🌟Oh So Cute: Tiny Hoop Ornaments or Bag Charms: Create 4 miniature embroidery hoops that can be used as bag charms, keychains, or ornaments, great handcrafted gifts for the holiday season!

Dear Saratoga Arts Members,

In accordance with our bylaws, we will hold our Annual Member Meeting on November 10th, 2026 at 5:30 pm at Saratoga Arts, 320 Broadway, Saratoga Springs. Please join us to vote on the proposed Board of Directors, meet our wonderful staff, and learn about some exciting developments on the horizon.

This meeting will also be live streamed via ZOOM for those members who are unable to attend in person and will be available for review on our website the following day.

Saturday, December 5th, 2026 10:00 AM-4:00 PM at Saratoga Arts, 320 Broadway, Saratoga Springs.

Acceptable mediums for this event: ceramics, jewelry, fiber arts, soap, candles, etc. All works must be handmade original pieces. We will only be able to accept about 30 artists due to space limitations. Booth will be 6 x 6 ft and there will be three 10 x 10 spaces available for a higher booth cost.

Accepted artists will be notified by November 6th, 2026. Payments will be due on November 13th, 2026.

We are delighted to invite you to our annual fundraiser an extraordinary evening in support of Saratoga Arts. The event will feature customized farm-to-table catered food by Farmacy, an open bar, gothic masquerade-inspired theme, silent auction and w**e pull, local artists and performers, all in celebration of our ever-expanding community at Saratoga Arts.

This year in celebration of our 40th anniversary, we are pleased to honor our organization’s founder and first Executive Director, Dee Sarno. Dee Sarno is a household name in Saratoga Springs – long known for her commitment to and advocacy for the arts. Dee arrived in Saratoga Springs with her family in 1988 and began a part-time job at, and then became the first Executive Director of, Saratoga Arts. She held that job for 30 years and was integral in establishing Saratoga Arts as the community arts center in Saratoga Springs, including securing its current location on Broadway. An ardent supporter of Saratoga Springs and the Capital District community, she has been honored by the Saratoga Springs History Museum, Saratoga Rotary Education Foundation, Adirondack Council of Girl Scouts, Soroptimists, the Albany League of Arts and the Saratoga Preservation Foundation.

2027 Regrant Applications are Open!

Saratoga Arts offers three separate grant categories each year; Community Arts Grants, Arts Education Grants, and Individual Artist Grants. Each funding category has an individual set of guidelines, funding priorities, and applications. All funding decisions for our grant applications are determined by a panel of community artists and individuals with strong ties to the local arts community.

Information sessions will be held throughout September and October to learn more about the application process and asks questions. Our grant coordinator will be offering appointments to meet and discuss your application. You can sign up for a time at saratoga-arts.org/grants
