Philspace invites you to join us Friday, May 1st from 5-8pm for Shelley Horton-Trippe’s EVOLUTION/REVOLUTION
She’s back with a departure! And a revolt!
The Departure: Known for her sweeping, large-scale abstractions, the artist now brings us a group of smaller paintings on canvas and paper. They are meant to be accessible in scale and price, intentionally for ‘The People and the Workers on this May Day.’
The Revolt: The acclaimed artist turns outward, toward the political, creating a series of sardonic and critical images addressing the absurdities, fractures, and dark humor of our current global landscape. Opening night will feature a performance, and an invitation to continue the conversation on May 18th with a daytime Salon Gathering hosted by Shelley.
