“I weave fine strips of bamboo to capture the passing moments of nature and to express my feelings and emotions. Simple forms, flowing lines, and harmonious colors – these are the three elements I always keep in mind when I create my work.”

Congratulations galleryFRITZ!! RAD's newest member.

Cover story: Working outside the lines
In a city with close to 300 galleries, how does an art dealer survive, much less succeed? For Deborah Fritz, it’s about not being afraid to shake things up. In the Railyard. In the market. In her three galleries, Giacobbe-Fritz Fine Art (co-owned with her sister), GF Contemporary, and Gallery Fritz. As the latter nears its first birthday, Pasatiempo talked to the former artist about the power of art, her big experiment in the Railyard, and breaking one of the biggest taboos in art. On the cover is a photo of Fritz at Gallery Fritz, photo Luis Sánchez Saturno/The New Mexican. Page 24

"Just seven blocks southwest of the downtown Plaza lies yet another area that’s bursting at the seams with culture and creativity -- Santa Fe’s Railyard District..."

What a great guide to Santa Fe!

There’s no one right way to describe Santa Fe. It’s the capital of New Mexico, the oldest state capital in the U.S., and the country’s third-largest art market -- behind New York and Los Angeles. Spanish for Holy Faith, Santa Fe might be better known, though, for its self-proclaimed slogan, the “Cit...
