Santa Fe Artists' Medical Fund

Santa Fe Artists' Medical Fund The Fund can distribute funds to pharmacies, hospitals, and health care providers but not to individuals.

The Santa Fe Artists’ Medical Fund provides financial assistance to Visual Artists residing in northern New Mexico, whether working or retired, who have need for medical care or services, but cannot afford them. The Santa Fe Artists’ Medical Fund was founded in 1998 by a group of Santa Fe individuals who were concerned about the problems encountered by professional artists who are uninsured, and t

hus, liable to serious financial difficulties in the case of medical emergencies. Emergency assistance ranges up to $2,000 and varies depending on the applicant’s circumstances.

These paintings and many more will be available for sale through the silent auction. Pat Flathouse is well known for painting, flowers, and this painting is a an impressive example of strong pieces of art donated to the Santa Fe Artists’ Medical Fund for its yearly silent auction. The 2024 Annual Celebration and Silent Auction will be held one week from today, Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 1:30 to 3:30 PM at the Scottish Rite Temple in Santa Fe at the corner of Paseo de Peralta and Bishops Lodge Road.
The Santa Fe Artists” Medical Fund was created in the late 1990s by Santa Fe artist Armond Lara, and Jack Stamm along with several artist friends and supporters of the arts. The long-term goal of our nonprofit is to benefit visual artists in Northern New Mexico for their medical and medically related needs. We are artists helping artists. YES!!!! - the 2024 Santa Fe Artists’ Medical Fund Annual Celebration and Silent Auction has photography, AND sculpture AND visual art paintings of all mediums. George Cannon’s photography is a good example of the quality and range of photography. The Artists’ Medical Fund is supported by hundreds of artists in Northern New Mexico, primarily with their donations to the yearly silent auction. This is truly an organization for the benefit of artists run by artists, and, has been in existence for almost 30 years. Initiated by Santa Fe artist Armond Lara, along with several artist friends in the late 1990s, this nonprofit continues to benefit artists in Northern New Mexico for their medical and medically related needs.
