Zaplin Lampert Gallery

Zaplin Lampert Gallery Since 1987, Santa Fe's premier destination for collectors of classic art of the American West. Curtis.

Founded in 1987, Zaplin Lampert Gallery has become known as a major fine art destination on Santa Fe's historic Canyon Road. The gallery specializes in masterworks by the early artists of the Taos Society, the Santa Fe Art Colony, and American painters of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Gallery partners Mark Zaplin and Richard Lampert grew up together in Massachusetts. In 1972, in th

e basement of a Boston bookstore, they found a large collection of photographs by the legendary Edward S. This discovery, from Curtis's thirty-year project documenting the American Indian, led Mark and Richard to the West and to their careers as dealers in fine art.

Beautiful things sometimes come in small packages! January 31st is Inspire Your Heart with Art Day, and this lovely print, although petite, says so much about Santa Fe, both past and present.

While Gustave Baumann's exemplary work as a printmaker continues to inspire many other artists, Willard Clark was the only individual who was actually mentored by Baumann, and a close examination of Clark's work reveals small details that honor their artistic connection.

We invite you to stop by the gallery to be inspired by the work of both artists!

Ex-plor-er: a person who travels to unfamiliar areas; an adventurer. That definition could easily be inserted into the biography of any of the artists whose work Zaplin Lampert Gallery is pleased to feature this month.

We invite you to take a visual tour of early America via this link http://bit.ly/zlgArtOfExploration or to stop by the gallery to see these and other works in person.
