Have you yet been to CreativeMornings Santa Cruz?CreativeMornings is a free monthly breakfast lecture series that unites our town’s creative community.☕️

This Friday from 8:30-10 AM, celebrate Santa Cruz’s Creativity at the CreativeMornings Release Day Party! 🎉

Instead of one speaker, 10+ members of our CMSC community will be invited up to the mic to share something that they’re releasing, like an idea, project, new habit or mindset.

Each presenter has 2 minutes to share onstage OR exhibit their work in the Atrium while folks mingle.

Inside the Project:
Steve Mandell on Beautiful Universe, a pop up exhibit currently on view in the MAH Atrium!

All images in Beautiful Universe are by Steve Mandel and Bob Fera! They will be answering your questions in the MAH Atrium this coming weekend. Make sure to stop by🔭☄️

In collaboration with the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at UC Santa Cruz, this exhibit bridges the gap that often exists in our minds between art and science.

In the photos, you will see galaxies, novae, supernovae, reflection and emission nebulae, and interstellar dust clouds that give birth to new stars and planets. It’s an incredibly active and dynamic Universe. The sizes are enormous and the distances, which we measure in light years, are unfathomable.

If you haven’t yet experienced Honoring Our Relatives: Amah Mutsun Botanical Illustrations, there is still time! 🌿

The Honoring Our Relatives exhibition features native plants selected by the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band for their cultural significance.

Created by UCSC undergraduates and an intergenerational cohort of Amah Mutsun tribal members, this exhibit transforms the bonds of kinship between people and plants into art.

Alongside the artwork, cultural uses and Indigenous names for these plants are on display, many being shared with the public for the first time.

Honoring Our Relatives is on view now until June 7th @ the MAH!

Coming soon to the MAH… 💫

A self-guided Queerstory Tour designed by our very own Humanities EXCEL Fellow, Kian Hladky, in celebration of Pride Month! 💛🏳️‍🌈

Beginning June 6 and running throughout Pride Month, pick up a Queerstory walking tour brochure in the MAH Atrium and explore downtown Santa Cruz through sites that played a pivotal role in the city’s q***r history.

Take the 30 for 30 challenge and support 30 more years of art, history, and community in Santa Cruz County!

The challenge is simple: 30 days. 30 dollars. 30 years!

In honor of the MAH’s 30th anniversary year we are asking our community members to donate $30 between May 15-June 15.

Those who donate will be recognized on the donor wall in the upcoming exhibition Santa Cruz Guitars: The First 50 Years.
