Built in 1888, this depot was the first public building in town and housed the church, library and post office. It’s style is a rare example of Richardsonian Romanesque Revival architecture in California. The style and the use of Almaden sandstone are strong links to Stanford University and its architect, Charles Coolidge, who may have designed this station.

This is the first permanent building in the Mission Revival style and was built in 1894. It features a square tower, a hipped roof, Moorish decoration on the main arch, unique quatrefoil windows and authentic California Indian roof tiles, salvaged in part from the ruins of Mission Hospice, as well as from the Mission San Antonio de Padua.
