I’m old enough to remember when the museum was just this log structure in Mill Pond Park. I also remember when the current structure was built around it. Who else remembers it that way? I hope I will be able to help with the planned addition soon. It will be an honor.
Come see the museum as it currently stands. If you have never been I promise it will be a treat.
Open Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 to 4. Admission is free, donations are appreciated.
The wife and I will be there Sunday along with a couple of other friendly hosts. We would love to show you around.

General Blue sent a follow up inspection by Master Sergeant Scout and Sergeant Major River. We passed with flying colors.
Seriously, Blue, Scout and River are all brothers. They are all great grandsons of Edgar Sanderson who is featured for his military service in the honors room. It’s great to have visitors who have a connection with someone who is featured at the museum.
Come by and visit the best county museum in Texas. The San Saba County Historical Museum is located in beautiful Mill Pond Park. We are open Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 to 4. Admission is free, donations are much appreciated. Hope to see you there.

After attending the water conservation meeting this morning I was reminded of how fortunate we are here in San Saba county. We have been blessed with abundant water sources. After living in the desert Southwest of NM where water is scarce I’ve learned how important water is. Come visit us this weekend at the San Saba County Historical Museum, located in beautiful Mill Pond Park (there’s that water theme again). Open Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 to 4.
Come discover the industries that keep San Saba thriving and depend on water.

I read a couple of weeks ago that our county commissioners and county judge decommissioned our county jail. They did so with a heavy heart. Up until recently our county jail had been the oldest operating jail in the United States. What will happen to it now? Museum annex?
If you are looking for something to do this weekend and stay cool, come see us at the San Saba County Historical Museum. Open Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 to 4. Admission is free, donations are greatly appreciated. Have a great weekend.

With the heat of summer setting in this week our electric bills are bound to increase due to all our appliances working overtime to keep things cool. Imagine back in the day keeping your food in a “icebox”, your ice bill would be on the rise. Then imagine owning the ice company, you would need a really fast horse to make deliveries this week.
Come visit the San Saba County Historical Museum where you can see how folks lived in times past.
Located in beautiful Mill Pond Park, open Saturday and Sunday 1:30 to 4. Admission is free, donations welcome. (Our electric bill will be going up to keeping the museum cool)😉
Hope to see you there.

Open from 1:30 to 4, located in beautiful Mill Pond Park. Admission is free, donations appreciated.

Whew, we passed inspection and have orders to carry on. General Blue (yes that’s actually his name) came by and gave us a thumbs up and a hearty salute. His great grandfather was Edgar Sanderson who is featured in a display in our honors room. He and his mom stopped by to check it out.
It’s been a busy week, thus the late invitation to come by the San Saba County Historical Museum this weekend, open Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 to 4. Admission is free, donations are welcome. Located in beautiful Mill Pond Park.
