*Mystery Photo Monday*

To recap: Each week, our volunteers spend hours identifying and recording the thousands of photos we have in our collection, but sometimes we just don’t know who, what or where these photos are of. That’s where you come in! Help preserve Marin History by sharing your thoughts. Can you identify these mystery photographs from our collection?

For todays Mystery photo we have this everyday view from a rooftop of a street corner with a gas station and amazing cars. Can anyone confirm a date? And of course we would love the street corner and town.

*Update*

It was brought to my attention that we missed the update for this fantastic shot! What we knew going into Mystery Photo Monday was that this was a photo of 'A.M. Estes on Civil Air Raid Patrol." As it said on the back of the photo. What we have gleand from all of you....
There is a spot off of Old Conzelman Rd. and the Point Bonita Lighthouse parking lot in the Marin Headlands that has this exact view point looking toward San Francisco. Mr. Estes would be looking due East in the photo. Civilian volunteers served as lookouts in high-elevation positions, such as Hog's Back, to spot and report aircraft. The Estes family were active Sausalito Volunteers.

Keep a lookout (see what I did there?) for a new photo next monday.
Thank you, everyone!

This weeks photo has a hint. Written on the back is "A.M. Estes on Civil Air Raid Patrol". So we know who it is and what he's doing but we are not quite sure where he is located or the approximate date. Anyone have any ideas where the lookouts were located?

*Update*

You've done it again! Not only did you know that this lovely lady was the Drake High School Canteen Manager, you also gave me her name, Rene Louise Dausse aka Louise Dausse or Mrs. Dausse, but you also provided the years she worked, 1956 until her reluctant retirement in 1971.
Thank you to her grandson Jeff Faraday who provided an article about her retirement which will go into our clippings files and thank you to everyone who responded.

This one may stump us all but here is a lovely lady standing in front of food shelves. Does anyone recognize her? Where could she be?
