San Marcos Historical Society The San Marcos Historical Society (SMHS) was established in 1967 and incorporated in 1968.

The Society is a private, non-profit corporation devoted to the collection, preservation, and presentation of artifacts, documents, and photos of San Marcos History We are a unique town as we have many historical sites not only in our location but around town as well. Our site offers The Cox House & Bidwell House both built by Jacob Uhland in 1888 & 1890; Connor's Hall built in 1940; Historical Mu

seum; Gazebo; Native Gardens; Old Time Fire Truck; Vegetable Garden; and we offer our Hands on History Program for groups of all sizes.
