June 5 โ€“ October 18, 2026
Alicia Adamerovichโ€™s works are representations of introspective journeys, couching emotion in the landscape of the subconscious. Often grounded in a sense of isolation, her paintings, drawings, and sculptural frames exist in a world that is at once achingly familiar and wholly alien. It is in this dichotomy of attraction and disdain, joy and pain, and expansion and compression where Adamerovich fashions moonlit feeling into terrains of apprehension and disquiet. At the same time, Adamerovich is acutely aware of her audience and invites them to take part in the creation. As Adamerovich states: โ€œI donโ€™t wish for my frames to be vessels for the work, but instead to be extensions of the lineโ€ฆ making connections with both the viewerโ€™s body and mind. Immersing oneself is bringing the experience closer to my own experience of creation.โ€

In this work, he uses shades of gray instead of bright color to change how the painting feels and to guide the viewer's. eye. The shift from light to dark creates a sense of depth, which was new for Stella, whose earlier paintings were very flat.

Trust Children Center visited SLOMA last month, and we loved having them as visitors.
Hereโ€™s a sweet follow-up story from the parents:
โ€œSo fun story: We went back there this last Monday, and she gave us a full tour of the place (we had never been there) and she introduced each and every art piece and talked about each one asking us "what do you notice about this art piece?" We were pretty blown away by her interest in the art.โ€ Dad Josh, 4/8/2026 (Daughter: Essie)

๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ฌ ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฒ๐˜ถ๐˜ช๐˜ด, is a large painting by artist Alfred Conteh that shows twin boys he met in Atlanta. It is part of his series ๐˜›๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ ๐˜๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ด, which shares the faces and names of Black Americans living in the Deep South, emphasizing individual identity and presence within communities that are often overlooked. Conteh's work reminds people of the real lives and struggles of Black communities today. This painting was made during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when many families in Atlanta suffered due to broad economic instability. The boys look calm and natural, appearing grounded and self-possessed, but Conteh shows uncertainty about their future by fading their legs into paint, suggesting the influence of larger social forces beyond their control.
