We were honored to participate in Irvine Valley College’s DEIA Day and grateful for the opportunity to be part of the panel and opening ceremony.
Thank you to IVC for welcoming the Blas Aguilar Adobe Museum to share about Acjachemen culture, history, and the importance of educating the community through Indigenous knowledge and lived experience.
We were also proud to introduce our new signage featuring Acjachemen plant names, helping uplift language, land based knowledge, and cultural continuity.
A special thank you to Climate Science Alliance for their Hear Our Names project, which helps amplify Indigenous language and the connection between plants, place, and identity.
We also extend our gratitude to the participants of this event, including the Gabrielino-Shoshone Nation of Southern California, for sharing their knowledge, presence, and voices.
Opportunities like this allow us to continue sharing our stories, honoring our ancestors, and strengthening connections with the broader community.
