Machuca 333 is a stage 4 cancer survivor. This piece was created shortly after he came out of remission. Machuca starts off by using ash/charcoal to coat the exterior canvas. The ash represents his rise from near death. Unlike other paintings, Machuca works backwards by using a handmade eraser to etch out his artwork. Machuca’s entire process is symbolic for “drawing light💡 from his darkest days”. The number 333, represents angels😇 are present.
This piece stands over 8ft tall by 4ft wide, it’s breathtaking!! “The Divine 3”. This piece will be on display along with over two dozen other breathtaking pieces!!✊🏽🙏🏽

Jesse Burciaga (b. 1990) is a printmaker and painter from Brownsville, TX/ Matamoros, Mexico who received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Brownsville, TX. He is a candidate graduate student at the University of Texas at San Antonio with a concentration in printmaking. Burciaga art is a reflection of his fronteno culture. (Fronteno is an individual who lives on either side of the Mexican American border.) Living between two cities, Burciaga takes imagery from these two cities and adds it to his art.
