The 82nd Whitney Biennial is the pulse check we all need. As the longest-running survey of contemporary art in the States, this year’s edition offers expansive look at where we are, and where we are going.

Across the work of 56 artists and collectives, the exhibition serves as a landscape for exploring our interconnectedness. It is about our messy, vital entanglements with technology, the land, and the myths we share.

It was a pleasure to view the work of Séverine Loisel Duault in Paris. She works primarily in oil, and incorporates metallic powders such as copper and iron, which she oxidizes to develop richly patinated surfaces imbued with a sense of time and transformation. Her practice is characterized by spontaneous gestures, layered materials, and an intuitive engagement with color, resulting in abstractions that resonate with depth and vibrancy.

The fantastic exhibition of Leonora Carrington at the Musée du Luxembourg pulls you straight into her mystical world, where myth, magic, and transformation intertwine.

One of the most iconic female voices in surrealism, Carrington established her own space in a movement long dominated by men.

We are excited to feature new paintings by John Wood. His work brings together a rhythmic fluidity and a rich, grounded palette, where gestural marks meet glowing oranges and earthy tones.

An inspiring evening at the di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art in San Franciscowith my friend Sally Newson for the opening of Tiffany Shlain’s exhibition, “Ancient Wisdom for a Future Ecology: Trees, Time & Technology.”

The exhibition explores the connections between human knowledge, technological evolution, and the long history of our natural world. A highlight is the Feminist History Tree Ring, an installation that traces the influence and legacy of women across time.

The event also featured panels with remarkable women, including Speaker Pelosi, who highlighted the exhibition’s theme of Feminist Art & Action and the role of creativity in shaping a more conscious future.

We are excited to feature Katheryn Holt’s new series of paintings, a timely body of work offering calm amid today’s constant bombardment of chaos. Soft horizons blur into fields of color that feel both grounded and expansive, moving from warm earth tones to fresh greens and cool blues like shifting light across land and water. These quiet, meditative paintings invite pause and reflection, evoking moments of calm, transition, and emotional openness.
Each work is 18” x 18”, mixed media on panel.

I am deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Stephanie Weber, a notable artist and one of the most vibrant, spirited individuals I have had the privilege to work with. Stephanie passed away on Monday 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy that is, much like her, immense, colorful, and impossible to forget.

Throughout her remarkable career, Stephanie created rich abstract paintings that combined acrylic and oil on honeycomb aluminum panels. The lush colors merged into luminous, finely worked fields of stripes and bands, seamlessly integrating with the cool shimmer of the aluminum panels.

Stephanie Weber’s paintings have been exhibited in galleries nationally. She has also had solo shows in multiple museums, including the San Francisco Fine Arts Museum and the Oakland Museum of California. Her work is part of many private, corporate, and public collections.

Her spirit and her art will continue to shine, reminding us of her and of the beauty she captured. Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends, and the many admirers of her work.
