Follow along as our incredible techs install “Breaking Out” (2021) by Ruby Neri ✨

This monumental ceramic sculpture is part of “Superficial Matters: Artists from the Svane Gift and Beyond,” which just opened! It shows a female figure with two miniature figures emerging from her breast. Exuberant, sexy, and unapologetic, Neri’s work defies the traditional roles and expectations placed on women.

The exhibition brings together eight Bay Area artists who use materials ranging from ceramics to photography to painting to explore how surface and appearance shape our understanding of identity and womanhood.

Come see “Breaking Out” alongside incredible new work by Maria A. Guzmán Capron, Lorna Simpson, Christiane Lyons, Wesaam Al-Badry, Sunny A. Smith, Daisy May Sheff, and Stephanie Syjuco.
