Senator Bernie Sanders writes in the New York Times: "...the creative work of millions of people — writers, artists, musicians, journalists, teachers, scientists and ordinary citizens — has essentially been stolen by some of the wealthiest people in the world. It’s time for us to reclaim it."

He proposes a one-time, 50% tax -- not taking money, but giving the American people a 50% equity stake in all the major AI companies. Why? "...the principle is simple: When a public resource generates wealth, the public should share in that wealth. A.I. is being built on a public resource far more valuable than oil: the accumulated knowledge, creativity and labor of mankind."

Having watched hoover up the creativity of artists, designers, and writers we know and turn it into revenue-generating machines, we completely agree.

All Americans should have a stake in the future of this technology.

YOU'RE INVITED: "Through Your Eyes or Someone Else's," sculpture and works on paper by Sora Kimberlain. Opening Reception TONIGHT Th 21 May 530 - 800p. Sora Kimberlain is a stone sculptor who also works on paper. Based in San Francisco, she maintains a warehouse stone studio in Omaha, Nebraska, where she develops much of her sculptural practice. Kimberlain works primarily in marble, employing hand chisels alongside power and pneumatic tools to shape the material. Her sculptures and drawings are informed by the emotive qualities of the human form as well as the structural language of cutting-edge contemporary architecture.
