GALLERY HEIST

GALLERY HEIST http://galleryheist.com/ Gallery Heist is located in the Tenderloin district of downtown San Francisco. Art is not a luxury; it is a necessity.

Established in 2009, the gallery is committed to showing contemporary art with a focus on works by young artists. The exhibitions include installation, performance, painting, sculpture and video. Art is an extension of our culture and communities, serving as a vessel for the visual definition of our times. Our mission is to foster innovative artistic expression and provide a sanctuary for the crea

tive process and its importance and role in the redefinition of culture. Gallery Heist is committed to providing a platform for artists to gain exposure and develop their careers while encouraging freedom of expression and experimentation within their work and artistic ideas. The walls of Heist will house work that is representative of the contemporary generation, offering a venue for artists who challenge and analyze our social and cultural responsibility, traditions, and behaviors; specifically those who are leading the front of a conscious art movement.

Installation & Residency!!
STUPED STUFF
KYLE KINGSTON

Gallery Heist is excited to introduce artist Kyle Kingston. His debut solo show, "Stuped Stuff", opens on Friday June 21, 2013. The artist is currently participating in a residency program at the gallery.
The exhibition chronicles the evolution of "Stuped Stuff", one of many cast of characters created by Kyle Kingston. The exhibition will also focus on new work created during the residency.
Kyle Kingston is nineteen years old, he's a self taught artists with an insatiable drive to draw & animate. Since the age of four, Kingston has been obsessed with drawing and creating alternate worlds. At age five he developed his first cast of characters, Jack & Sparky. At age nine the dark & deranged world of Joe, Arney, Tom & Mr. Bartender emerged with the inception off Stuped Stuff.
Initially conceptualized through play & improvisation caught on home video. The characters began to develop as did Kingston's interest in stop-motion using clay and cardboard the characters came to life frame by frame.
After a big move from Oklahoma to Los Angeles in 2011. Kingston lost most of his work, which led him to the discovery of flash & 2D computer animation. He is currently rolling a doobie & working on the pilot episode for Stuped Stuff, with the hopes of finishing production by the end of the residency.
