We know, we know... it's hot! Nobody wants to head outside to walk around a bunch of log cabin buildings. So how on earth did people survive it 200 years ago?

Come out and brave the heat in order to learn the benefits - yes, the benefits! - of long sleeves, hats, and living in the past during heat swells.

We'll be out there from 9am to 4pm this Saturday, August 29th. Won't you be brave and join us?!

Attention Texas history teachers!

Do you want to spruce up on your Stephen F. Austin knowledge before your upcoming empresario unit? Are you looking for ways to help students connect with the past? Check out our upcoming webinar, "Empresario Stephen F. Austin: A Webinar for Teachers!"

In this webinar, teachers can expect to learn about the man behind the "Father of Texas" title. While history can make its subjects appear larger-than-life, diving deeper into their personally, relationships, and actions can remind us that they are just as human as the rest of us. Find out exactly who Austin was to his friends and family, how his desires to step away from Texas leadership impacted his actions, and how his legacy overcame his unpopularity at the time of his death.

Attendees will receive one hour of CPE credits and a sneak peak of our newest classroom activity, "Empresario Stephen F. Austin: A Family Affair" for 7th graders!
