This upcoming Saturday, October 24th, join staff in the print shop as they explain just how print shops might keep their orders organized!

Print shops weren't just about newspapers; they also printed things akin to business cards, flyers, advertisements, and more! Keeping track of all those orders and deadlines could be quite the task!

Please join our non-profit supporting group, the Friends of the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site, in promoting their annual membership drive for 2027!

The Friends organization provides necessary funding to help support museum events, field trips for local students, educational materials for Texas history teachers, promotional media, and more. In fact, just one family membership to the Friends can provide a field trip opportunity for up to an entire student classroom!

Representatives of the Friends organization will be at our annual Father of Texas event on Saturday, November 7th to showcase all that a membership can offer including free museum admission to programs and events, exclusive news about what’s in store, discounts on museum merchandise, and more!

They’re creepy. They're crawly! They are some of nature’s most freakish creatures. During Halloween weekend, you’ll walk with Texas Master Naturalists through a fun Texas rogue’s gallery that includes crypt keepers, zombie masters, tarantula hunters, vampires, assassins, widow-makers and other spine-chilling critters. Join us for our 2nd Annual Mr. Frank's Creep Show!

This event will be offered two times:
Saturday, October 31st at 2pm
Sunday, November 1st at 2pm

This weekend! Join us for our 2nd Annual Hearth Wars Competition as we see teams compete to be the best cook in Austin's Colony!

Teams will be cooking dishes using period-appropriate recipes and techniques in order to make a dish using a secret ingredient: pumpkin!

The cooking begins at 9am on Saturday, October 10th with awards being given at approximately 2pm. We hope to see you there!

It's that time of year! For our October History at Night program, we will be talking all things San Felipe de Austin Cemetery on Thursday, October 29th at 6pm!

Heads up! Beginning for Season 8 of History at Night, programs will be $5 for guests who are not members of the Friends of the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site. This $5 admission goes directly into the Friends' fund to support education programs, community outreach, and vital support to our organization. Members of the Friends will receive free admission to History at Night and all other museum programs.

Can you believe we are just ONE MONTH away from our annual Father of Texas event?!?!

The excitement is building and we are on the edge of our seat getting ready for our largest event of the year! Join us for FREE museum admission, family-friendly activities, historical demonstrations, reenactors, author spotlights, and CAKE, all to celebrate our community and town founder, Stephen F. Austin.

Doors open at 9am on Saturday, November 7th and the excitement will last until 4pm. We hope to see you there!
